A Lesson On Mistakes

You know those moments when you have to laugh at yourself because… well, if you can’t laugh at yourself who can you laugh at? 😬

Well, tonight was that moment. And as I was discovering my mistake I didn’t find it very funny, but I’m one of those people that can eventually find humor in almost anything, and it’s really not the end of the world. Life will go on!

So what was the mistake? I set up my entire website several weeks ago without ensuring that my “Subscribe” sections were working. Come to find out, it was not linked to me or my site at all. So if you subscribed, I’m sorry but it went somewhere else. OOOOPS!

Needless to say I feel like an idiot, here I’ve been linking people to my site to subscribe to my emails for about 3 weeks and if anyone did I wouldn’t know it. This whole process has been eye opening and yet I have learned so much, so it’s not a total loss. The whole reason I even realized this was happening was because I was making some updates to the site…

I added aΒ “Guest Feature”Β page because it would be so fun to network and connect with other bloggers who have fun, and interesting thoughts to share. So if you’re reading this and have some interest, head to the guest feature page and check it out! Who would have thought that enhancing my website would lead me to checking out random sections and the next thing you know I’m discovering the gasp worthy mistake. Better now than later right?

Life would be boring without obstacles. I’ve always loved a good hurdle race… not really, I used to be so scared of hurdle races, I’m too clumsy for all that!

… Feel free to actually subscribe to my blog. Or re-subscribe if you thought you did (I’m cringing inside as I type that). Last minute blog migration tips:

  • Be FULLY prepared
  • Ask tons of questions from your new host/server people and your current host
  • Make a to-do list
  • Double check every aspect of your website before going live
  • Read about the process, reach out to other bloggers who have done it so you know what you’re getting into
  • Breathe. Be patient. Have a glass of wine (but not too much, that probably just leads to more mistakes)
  • Don’t do the majority of it while you have the flu πŸ˜‚
If you don’t know what this is, google “Steve Harvey Mistake” haha

It’s almost Friday…
