H E L L O T UE S D A Y!
When you think of healthy food do you think of boring old meals, like chicken breast and broccoli and maybe some quinoa? I definitely spent a good portion of my life thinking that’s what I had to eat every day to be fit and healthy, but as it turns out good clean food doesn’t have to be that way!
If you are anything like Kris and I, we like flavorful meals that are colorful and look appetizing, so we’re always looking for ways to spice things up (literally)
One of the ways I do that is using lots of different spices/seasonings, I tend to use a lot of indian spices and I absolutely love using Flavor God Spices.
Today I am sharing one of my favorite, easy and clean meals that I just so happened to make last night and also got a decent photo of it!
We used Shrimp and Steak that we seasoned with “everything spicy” from Flavor God, garlic, sea salt, pepper, and coated everything with coconut oil. The we put them on skewers and grilled them.
The way I like to pile up my bowl goes like this:
- 1/2 cup rice or quinoa (I used homemade “mexican” rice)
- 1/2 cup black or pinto beans (I used black)
- Lettuce and Cabbage mix
- A couple pinches of cheese (I will never give up on cheese. EVER.)
- Diced Tomatoes or grape tomatoes
- Steak and Shrimp added on top with some Sriracha and squirt of lime!
I forgot the greek yogurt while shopping, but normally I would throw that on top also, and Kris always adds olives… and obviously you can add salsa (I just don’t like to)… fresh corn pulled off the cob is also amazing! There are so many options 😋
Easy Peasy! It took about 20-30 minutes to pull together and grill the meats.
