The Black Cat, Blue Sea Award

 

I have felt pretty overwhelmed recently, and admittedly my motivation fell a few notches… not entirely. Just a little. But it’s a confusing feeling and I don’t like it. Anyway, I’m over that hump thankfully. Now on to the task of trying to manage life efficiently, and with a positive attitude! Note to self: You’ve got this!

…Today I was pleasantly surprised by Nikki at A Kinder Way who nominated me for the “Black Cat, Blue Sea” award. I like the sound of that… black cat? Check! Blue sea? Check!

So firstly, here are the rules:

The questions I was asked are:

How would you describe your blog to a stranger?

“It’s mostly a fitness blog… my fitness journey, sharing tips, motivation, awesome products that I enjoy, fun workouts, it’s a place where I can connect with other people, share recipes that I love… I also tend to write about what’s going on in life, sharing my recent hikes and photos. It’s kinda like a sloppy Joe.”

What is the last kind thing someone did for you?

It might sound kind of silly, but on Mother’s day (last sunday) I went to pick up Dutch Bros (as a surprise) for my daughter… and Kris, and when I started to pay the cashier/barista guy says, “Hey, are you a mom?” and I answered, yes. Then he said one of my coffees would be free and drew a little heart on the top. So instead of my bill being 11.50, it was only 4.50. Yes I know he was just doing his job, but it definitely made my day. It’s the little things 😊

What are you looking forward to most this Summer?

Can I say everything? Ok, ok… so anyone who knows me knows I love two things the MOST: The outdoors, and traveling (those go hand in hand, I know). I’m really looking forward to a real vacation. The last time we took a vacation that was longer than weekend was in 2010 when we went to Hawaii. Last year we went to Miami for the 4th of July, but we were there for 3 days (2 of which were spent on 7+ hour flights) and it was more exhausting than anything else. So finding out we are fortunate to be going on TWO vacations is blowing my mind. We are headed to Hawaii on June 12th, a day before my birthday and staying until the 16th. Then in July we are headed to Mexico (my first time out of the states) from the 13th-18th. Eeeeeek! More than that, I’m excited we get to camp. If you read back a few posts I wrote about how we haven’t been able to camp in 4 years due to Kris’s business and the biz has grown so much, he was able to hire someone to help him so it frees up some time for us to be “off the grid.” There is nothing more exciting than these things!
