When you wake up on Monday morning feeling like you’ve been hit by a bus from the last 4 days of working out (and hiking) it can be difficult to feel motivated to start an entire new week, I’m not gonna lie. Thank you 34 year old body… But having said that, when you step on the scale and you weight almost two pounds less than the day previous, that’s pretty damn motivating!
I’ve always had this motto, that I’m sure every fitness enthusiast/professional has also had, “Never Miss A Monday.” There is something so great about starting the week of with a positive mindset, intention and drive… it definitely gets the week started on the right foot.
So I’m currently sitting here trying to convince myself that I need to get up off this cozy couch.
September has been an amazing month, particularly the last week… yes we are only 12 days in but this 30 day dry month has me feeling all sorts of goodness. I can’t remember the last time I’ve felt this good! Being 4 pounds lighter is a huge plus… it never ceases to amaze me how much alcohol affects my body in such a negative way, as soon as I cut it out of my diet I immediately see progress. Sad but true 🤔
I don’t know about everyone else, but I do my best to get outside as much as possible and be active so I’m not just stuck in the gym. This weekend was a definite success. We also ate at home ALL weekend, which never happens. It was actually really nice, I think I’ll try to do that more often.
My gym is starting a weight loss challenge similar to “Biggest Loser” (Two grand prize winnings of $2,500 and 5 second place winners get $500 each!) and Kris and I signed up, the plus side to that is that we get to do this fancy-schmancy body fat measurement so I’ll be heading to gym later to do that, and get some non-running cardio in. What’s your favorite cardio, aside from running?

- I made some pumpkin puree last night, so guess what that means: recipe time 🎃
- I’m working on an exercise ball routine to share, hopefully will have that by Friday!
