Music truly does move the soul, I’m one of those people that would listen to music 24/7 if I could. And music, second to getting new work out gear is one of my greatest motivators.
I’ve been getting a little bored recently with my main workout playlist so put together a new one and am really enjoying it! (the wireless Beats headphones I just got for the iPhone 7 may have something to do with it!) It’s full of remix songs, and hip-hop (warning- some have explicit lyrics) My musical taste is varied, honestly I love all music. For instance, one of my all time favorite songs is “Lilac Wine” by Nina Simone, but one of my current favorite songs is “Pick Up The Phone” by Young Thug and Travi$ Scott… I also have to play classical music when I’m studying and often times reading 😂 And I also adore country music (but I can’t workout to that style for some reason!)
They say that running can boost some peoples performance by 15%, and that choosing the right BPM (beats per minute) can greatly affect your run. This Website can help you figure out what the best BPM’s for your next run should be. But really… my personal opinion is that if you like it, if you can vibe with it and it makes you feel good- you’re bound to have a better performance no matter the BPM’s.
Typically I listen to songs that aren’t too fast- otherwise I find that I start breathing weird when I’m running or I start running out of sync with my breathing pattern, so I try to find a happy medium, and remixed songs usually do the trick for me so that’s what I primarily stick with!
